The Term “Organic Colour” is bit of a buzz word at the moment, but what difference does it make to have “Certified Organic” or “Organic Ingredients” in a hair colour. Is this beneficial even though it can still contain other nasty ingredients?
Almost all hair colour contains natural ingredients to help benefit the condition of the hair and scalp, however to be a permanent hair colour that can lighten or provide 100% grey coverage they must contain at least one of these toxic chemicals PPD’s, PTD’s & Resorcinol plus many more.
Even though they are marketed as “Natural”, “Organic”, “No or Low ammonia” You are still exposed to many dangerous chemicals day in and day out!
Let’s see what may be in the colour your using…
- Ethanolamine – Often used in replacement of Ammonia – Used to open the Hair Cuticle.
- PPD & PTD (P-phenylenediamine & Toluene-2.5-diamine)
- Resorcinol (Including Substances with resorcinol in the name)
- Aminophenol (Including Substances with Aminophenol in the name)
- 1-naphthol
- Formaldehyde, Diazolidinyl urea and imidazolidinyl Urea
- Thioglycolic acid & thioglycolate
- 4 amino-3-nitrophenol
